A letter from the founder
The laundry basket that's too lovely to hide away.
A little less washing clutter. A little more colour in the rooms you use every day. Here are five lovely things about Giulia.
Can I ask you something? Is there a corner of your home where the washing always seems to pile up?
Maybe it's beside the bed. Maybe it's in the bathroom. You mean to sort it out, but there are always a few more clothes to put away. And that old plastic basket isn't exactly something you want sitting in the room.
At Claire & Grace Sydney, we love the little things that make a home feel warm and welcoming. Even the things we use for ordinary jobs.
That's why I wanted to share the Giulia Hand-Quilted Laundry Basket with you. It's a practical place for the washing, but it also has seven colourful sheep, warm golden quilting and soft fabric handles. Those funny little faces make me smile.
You don't have to find a cupboard to hide it in. It can sit right where you need it, and still look lovely.
Here are five reasons I think this little basket deserves a place in your home.
Lovely enough to leave out
A laundry basket doesn't have to be plain. Giulia has a warm golden quilted background with seven colourful sheep across the front. The little woolly faces make a bathroom or bedroom corner feel more cheerful.
Picture it beside your bedroom door, ready for the day's washing. It does a useful job and adds a bit of colour to the room.
A size that suits your home
Some baskets are too big for a small bathroom. Others seem full before you've even started the washing. Giulia comes in three sizes, so you can choose the one that fits your space.
Small is 36 × 46 cm, Medium is 41 × 56 cm and Large is 51 × 71 cm. A little one could suit towels or a smaller room. The larger one gives you more space for everyday family washing.
Easy to move when there's washing to do
Washing has a habit of travelling from room to room. Bedrooms, bathrooms and finally the washing machine. Giulia has reinforced fabric handles to help you carry it when it's time to move things along.
The handles are wrapped in soft quilted fabric, just like the rest of the basket. A useful detail that looks lovely too.
Little sheep that make the details special
Take a closer look at the front. There are seven colourful sheep, each with its own funny face, stitched onto the golden quilted fabric. You can see the texture in the sheep, the woolly tops of their heads and the stitching around them.
Giulia has hand-sewn quilting, giving it the sort of detail you don't often see on an ordinary washing basket. It's a cheerful thing to look at, even on a busy day.
One less untidy corner to think about
Every home needs a place for washing that hasn't made it to the machine yet. Giulia gives those everyday clothes somewhere to go, so they don't end up in little piles around the room.
It's handy for towels in the bathroom, washing in the bedroom or even a few soft blankets in the living room. A simple way to keep things together, with something cheerful to look at.
The Giulia, compared with an ordinary laundry basket
There is nothing wrong with a plain basket. It does the job. Giulia is for anyone who would like that everyday job to look a little lovelier.
| An ordinary plain basket | Giulia Hand-Quilted Basket |
|---|---|
| Simple, practical design | Seven cheerful sheep on warm golden quilting |
| Usually a plain surface | Hand-sewn quilted fabric with stitched details |
| Size choices depend on the model | Three clearly measured sizes |
| Handles vary by design | Reinforced fabric carrying handles |
| Keeps the everyday washing together | Also a cheerful place for towels or soft blankets |
Giulia isn't about making washing exciting. It's about having one useful thing in your home that makes an ordinary corner feel a little nicer.
Three sizes, so you can choose what works
The right basket depends on the space you have and what you'd like to keep inside. Here are the current Giulia prices in Australian dollars, with the regular comparison prices shown for each size.
